nutritionnutrition was set up in 2006 and is owned, designed, written and maintained by Zoe Connor, Dietitian and Nutrition Consultant.
Zoe is registered with the UK Health Professions Council (verify this here) and is a
member of the British Dietetic Association. She qualified as a
dietitian in 2001. Her
experience working in the NHS and independently means she has helped
more than 3000 people with diet issues, including over 1000 children. Zoe is usually based between Warwickshire and London, but is currently enjoying an extended holiday in Australia and New Zealand.
Zoe's Professional Qualifications:
- MSc Nutrition and Dietetics with distinction (Leeds Metropolitan University 2004)
- PG Diploma Nutrition and Dietetics (Leeds Metropolitan University 2001)
- BSc Biochemistry with Molecular Biology with First Class Honours (Cardiff University 1999)
Professional Experience:
- 2007-date Freelance Dietitian and Nutrition Consultant, including locum work back in the NHS at Oxford Children's Hospital.
- 2006-7 Nutrition Advisor in Indonesia with an international development organisation, tackling malnutrition in the under-5s through work with local field workers and non-government organisations.
- 2001-6 NHS Dietitian - starting off in a rotation position doing dietetic work in Guy's, St Thomas's and Lewisham Hospitals in London, then moving to Ealing Hospital to be their sole children's dietitian, then to a fantastic post as specialised children's community dietitian in a team in Bromley, Kent. Ward work covered all different food and nutrition issues including cancers, HIV, artificial tube feeding, strokes, gut problems, liver disease, maternity, mental health, special care baby unit and children's ward. Clinic, home visit and school work included health education, weight loss, weight gain, group sessions for overweight children, allergies, diabetes, faddy eating, autism, IBS, children with special needs, cystic fibrosis and HIV.
